Welcome to Bethmond
Bethmond is my work-in-progress tabletop 'room escape' game. The idea of creating my own game began a couple of years ago when I was invited to a series of gaming sessions, where my friends and I had the opportunity to play Hunt a Killer: Blair Witch, which featured several board games. In the game, we roleplayed as private investigators, tasked with finding a missing person, with a horrifying twist.
In my version, the players receive a letter from Tabitha Willow, the High Priestess of the Nightingale coven. In this letter, Tabitha pleads to the fellow members for help to find out what happened to their fellow coven member, Lilian Stone. This letter serves as an invitation and includes the date and time of the game session.
Note: The story and the props are still in progress.
Props help the players solve puzzles
In the game, players are provided with various types of props. Some are given to them directly at the beginning of the game, while others they need to find as they progress. One of the first items players receive is a magazine showcasing several creatures of Bethmond. In the story, the magazine is published by Lilian Stone.
This prop will offer players their initial clues on how to proceed, but these clues are hidden within the lore.
Note: The pictures aren't yet completed, but most of the sketches are finished.
The progress
As the game is still in progress, I don't yet have the full showcase of the game. My next steps are to fill up a couple of holes in the lore and story, and create visual props such as the creature magazine, Lilian Stone's Grimmoire, hidden messages, and much more.
